General - Log Version 1.0 of 12 Feb 04
This
is a log of my trip in December 2003 and January 2004 from San Francisco to New
Zealand and back aboard the freighter Direct Tui.
You can click on the map icon to the right for a more detailed map of the trip itself or you can chose the section of the trip you are interested in by selecting one of the links along the left side of this page.
Most of the individual pages are named according to the date they were written. For example, 031207 means this page was written on December 7th, 2003 (form = YYMMDD). There are also 'Pre' and 'Post' pages which describe relevant things which happened before and after the trip itself.
There are many digital pictures scattered throughout this log. For each picture, a small version is displayed embedded within the web text. To see a larger version, just click on the small image. Please note that the larger versions of the pictures are generally sized at 1280x960 pixels which makes each of them about a half a megabyte in size. This will make for slow loading if you are using anything less than a high speed Internet connection to view them.
There are also a few QuickTime digital movie clips scattered about. To view these, you will need either a CD with this web site burned on it or a high speed Internet connection. You can read more about these little digital movie clips here.
